Why Are We Offering a Scholarship?

At Renaissance Recovery, we understand that addiction can have debilitating effects not only on the user but the user’s loved ones and friends as well. These problems can make it more difficult to do things like plan for your future, focus on yourself, and attend and pay for college. Because of this, we want to do what we can to help those who are not only going through our treatment program but all those who have been adversely affected by addiction, especially those looking to brighten their future.

So if you are attending college or will be attending starting Fall 2023, take a look at the requirements and essay prompt below.

How To Enter

The scholarship will be awarded to the individual who creates the best essay according to the prompt below:

Do you think schools have an ethical and moral responsibility to educate students about addiction and drug abuse? What would you change about how schools approach this issue?

After completing the essay, email the final copy to: with “2023 Scholarship – Renaissance Recovery” as the subject line.

The winner will be contacted on September 4, 2023 and will receive payment shortly after once they have verified their identity and college enrollment.

What you need to provide:

  • A valid form of ID
  • Proof that you will be attending a university for Fall 2023
  • An essay no more than 750 words following the prompt
  • Send in your essay no later than August 15, 2023
  • To avoid conflict of interests, employees and relatives of Renaissance Recovery cannot apply
