A luxury rehab is an upscale treatment center providing evidence-based addiction treatment and the highest levels of care, both clinical and emotional.

From resort-style rehabs for Hollywood A-listers to luxury outpatient rehab, all upscale rehabs place a premium on privacy, allowing you to recover from active addiction in a serene and confidential setting.

What to Expect at a Luxury Drug and Alcohol Rehab

Luxury rehabs offer broadly similar services whether you are seeking treatment for alcohol use disorder or substance use disorder (the clinical descriptors for alcoholism and drug addiction).

Here is what to expect from a stint in a luxury rehab center:

Clinically supervised detox

Suddenly quitting alcohol or drugs at home is inadvisable and potentially dangerous. Luxury rehab begins with a medically supervised detox.

If you head to an inpatient luxury rehab, detox takes place at the facility, after admission and before treatment begins. Many luxury outpatient rehabs have connections with medical detox centers nearby.

Either way, you’ll have a team of medical experts on hand to address any complications during detox and withdrawal. The process of detoxification takes from 7 to 10 days. Several FDA-approved medications can help streamline detox, tamping down the intensity of cravings and withdrawal symptoms. You will also have access to a variety of medication to alleviate sickness, nausea, GI issues, and insomnia.

With detox complete, you’ll be ready to transition into treatment at a luxury residential rehab, or to engage with outpatient sessions at an upscale treatment facility.

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)

MAT is beneficial for both opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder.

Medications can help beyond the detox stage, helping to keep cravings for substances at bay, and blocking the effects of substances if you succumb to temptation and relapse.

Medication-assisted treatment is always most effective in combination with psychosocial interventions like talk therapy and counseling.

Psychotherapies

Psychotherapy, informally known as talk therapy, forms the core of luxury rehab programming.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) are the most common types of psychotherapy applied to both addictions and mental health disorders.

Working closely with a therapist, you’ll learn to change negative patterns of thinking and you’ll also discover healthier coping mechanisms. The more you learn about the people, places, and things that trigger you to use substances, the more confidently you can negotiate the temptation that comes your way during your ongoing recovery.

Ultimately, psychotherapy sessions will help you to become your own therapist, acting in line with your long-term recovery goals rather than being driven compulsively or emotionally to behave counter to those goals.

Counseling

All luxury rehab centers will connect you with individual and group counseling. Most outpatient programs will place more emphasis on group sessions.

One-to-one counseling allows you to dive deep into the specifics of your addiction, while a group environment gives you an insight into how peers are coping with similar experiences.

At a luxury rehab, you will have access to a team of specialists in the field of addiction recovery and psychology.

Holistic therapies

While the traditional research-backed combination of MAT and psychotherapy is proven effective for treating addictions, all the best luxury rehab centers also offer an array of holistic therapies. Some common examples include:

  • Meditation
  • Mindfulness
  • Adventure therapy
  • Yoga
  • Cooking therapy
  • Art therapy
  • Music therapy

All of these supplementary therapies can work well when delivered as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

Aftercare and relapse management/prevention

Recovery is a fluid and ongoing process rather than a time-limited event like detox. As such, when you complete a luxury rehab program, this represents another marker on your lifelong journey rather than the end of the mission.

All upscale rehabs ensure you have the right tools for preventing and managing relapse, as well as an appropriate level of aftercare. This may mean stepping down to a less intensive form of treatment on ASAM’s continuum of care (from a PHP to an IOP or OP, for instance).

Luxury Rehab: California

As you would expect, luxury rehab California comes at a steep cost. Even a relatively basic luxury rehab is liable to cost $25,000 per month, with more luxurious facilities costing upward of $50,000 monthly.

You’ll find several of these super-luxe treatment centers nestled in the celeb-studded enclave of Malibu.

Seasons in Malibu, for instance, caters to clients with deep pockets demanding the most effective evidence-based treatment interventions in a glamorous setting named as one of the world’s leading rehab facilities.

Cliffside Malibu is another famous addiction treatment center in California, and one of the world’s premier luxury rehabs. Offering intensive psychotherapy, research-based therapies in combination with holistic therapies, Cliffside’s programs then encourage clients to use these tools in tandem to achieve long-lasting sobriety.

Los Angeles

Of all the luxury rehab centers Los Angeles, perhaps the most famous is the Betty Ford Center.

The outpatient treatment center is located in West LA, offering extremely flexible addiction treatment, both on weekdays and weeknights, as well as via remote therapy. Like many luxury rehabs, Betty Ford aims to improve access to addiction treatment, accepting many health insurance plans. This is something that cannot be said for all luxury rehabs.

Orange County

Whether you need luxury alcohol rehab or luxury drug rehab in Orange County, we can help you with both here at Renaissance Recovery Center.

We also provide dual diagnosis treatment for anyone with a co-occurring addiction and mental health condition.

What can you expect from our luxury treatment facility in Orange County, then?
